county crews are on their way to clear the tree. connecticut avenue will be closed until the rest is cleared. you can see the damage to the truck. you can see the tree on top of another vehicle on the top part of the screen. we will have more details through the newscast. >> a man shot in a confrontation with police in silver spring has died. >> this happened after police say the man tried to force his way into a home where his girlfriend is a live-in nanny. >> montgomery county police got a call around 4:00 this morning from the gunman saying he wanted to do harm to himself and possibly others. >> the next door neighbor heard seven or a gunshot. he and his roommates hit the floor. >> i jumped on the floor because i did not know what was going on. i saw my roommate walking down the hall. we were looking of the front

officers were involved in the shooting. we're told there are detectives here from the crime unit and internal affairs. john gonzales, abc 7 news. >> police say the suspect had a replica hand gun. the officers involved in the shooting are on paid administrative leave. that is standard procedure in any officer-involved shooting. fairfax county police have made an arrest in a weekend murder. he is charged with murder and death of mark eaves. as the bidders say the men knew each other but are not saying what sparked the investigators are saying the men knew each other but are not saying what sparked the shooting. >> it has been a week since the fairfax teenager disappeared. volunteers and family are searching where his abandoned car was found. last monday, he dropped his brother off at high school and was then seen on fairfax

he is riding a wave of momentum from last week's debate. the poll taken after the denver showdown has the race tied among registered voters. president obama had a five-point advantage three days leading into the debate. voters overwhelmingly said ann romney won the debate. that is the biggest debate when ever recorded by gallup bigger than bill clinton's over george bush. president obama is expected to raise more than $10 million over two days. at an event in los angeles last night, musicians lent support for his reelection.. obama thanked the performers and threw in a not so subtle reference to his debate performance. >> they performed flawlessly night after night. i cannot always say the same. >> the pressure is now on vice
